Controller role in a fast-growing, PE-backed multi-site consumer services platform based in Kansas City. This is a hands-on gig for a seasoned accounting leader ready to build the finance function from scratch and lead M&A integration as the business scales.Why We Like ThisThis is a strategic growth seat, not a maintenance role. RequirementsStrong Accounting Operations Expertise: Own the month-end close, financials, and foundational accounting processes to stabilize and elevate the function after a period of resource constraints and cleanup. Multi-Site Accounting & Integration Experience: Hands-on experience managing local P&Ls, standardizing processes across sites, and leading M&A integration for smooth consolidation and reporting. Team Builder & Business Partner: Ability to design the accounting org, hire and develop regional staff, and partner effectively with non-finance leaders to drive operational and financial performance. ResponsibilitiesBuild and lead the accounting function by designing the org structure and hiring and developing regional staff. Standardize processes across all locations to streamline consolidation and reporting. Own month-end close, financial statements, board materials, and flash reports. Lead full-scope external audits and maintain strong internal controls across the business.
