The primary purpose of the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is to provide quality health care, deliver outstanding customer service, and maintain an environment committed to serving veterans. LPNs perform assigned duties under the guidance of a Nurse Manager or designee, requiring technical competence and skill in various nursing care tasks.VA Careers - Licensed Practical Nurse: https://youtube.com/embed/Ae85IP1Oiz4Total Rewards of a Allied Health ProfessionalPatient Care: Perform and complete assigned tasks for patients with a variety of conditions including amputations, spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, MSK conditions, and chiropractic/acupuncture needs. Duties vary based on grade level.Medication and Treatment Administration: Prepare and administer medications and perform treatments as prescribed. Document patient responses and report deviations to RN or MD/DO.Emergency Response: Recognize and respond to emergent patient care situations, seeking assistance from RN or MD/DO and initiating appropriate emergency interventions.Patient Interaction: Utilize knowledge of human behavior to interact effectively with patients, their families, and staff, promoting communication and positive relationships.Respect for Privacy: Maintain patient privacy and dignity in all aspects of care delivery.Support for Diagnostic Procedures: Assist in complex diagnostic tests and specialized practices, preparing patients and handling instruments. Serve as a mentor to less experienced staff.Flexibility to Cover Other Areas: While primary responsibilities are within the pain clinic, be prepared to assist in other specialty areas as the need arises.LPNs in PM&RS contribute significantly to the therapeutic and rehabilitative processes, ensuring care is delivered proficiently and compassionately, in alignment with their respective grade levels.Pay Scale: V744Work Schedule: Administrative Day Tour of Duty, such as, 0730-1600 or 0800-1630Recruitment Incentive (Sign-on Bonus): Not authorizedPermanent Change of Station (Relocation Assistance): Not authorizedPay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases.
