Anticipated Vacancy: ImmediateAdult Education - Part-time EveningsFOUNDATIONS OF A TEACHER AIDE INSTRUCTORThe Adult Learning Institute (ALI) is seeking an experienced instructor to lead a comprehensive training course for individuals interested in or currently working as teacher aides (paraprofessionals) in K-12 educational settings. This course is designed to equip adult learners with the essential knowledge, practical skills, and professional demeanor necessary to effectively support diverse learners and licensed teachers.SALARY: $40-$45 per hour (depending on experience)LOCATION(S): Dutchess BOCES Adult Learning InstituteDUTIES: Key instructional areas include the roles and responsibilities of a paraprofessional, classroom organization and management, effective communication, supporting diverse learners (e.g., students with disabilities, English language learners), an introduction to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans, behavior management strategies, basic instructional support techniques, communicating with nonverbal students, and ethical and legal considerations in education. The instructor will be responsible for preparing adult learners to confidently contribute to a positive and effective classroom environment.QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of successful experience working with paraprofessionals in a k-12 setting.GRADE LEVEL: AdultSTARTING DATE: June-July 2026
