Description: We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse for our Progressive Care unit. The unit consists of 32 beds and typically sees patients who do not require mechanical ventilation. Common diagnoses include congestive heart failure, dysrhythmias, chest pain workups, strokes, abdominal illnesses, respiratory illnesses, diabetes, acute kidney injury/chronic kidney disease, and alcohol withdrawal. Patient-to-nurse ratios are usually 1:4 and may increase to 1:5 based on acuity. Support staff includes nursing assistants dedicated to activities of daily living, charge nurses available to assist with nursing care, and phlebotomy services. The unit boasts a comprehensive support network including respiratory therapy available 24/7, hospitalist and intensivist teams, and telemetry monitoring at the bedside and nurses' station. The facility utilizes an electronic medical record system and various medical technologies including IV pumps and medication dispensing systems. Floating may be required within the region and scope of practice, and will be compensated appropriately. Travelers are expected to work every other weekend and 75% of holidays, with requests for time off eligible for consideration.
