About the Opportunity:
As an Engineering Technician II, you'll be out in the field daily, monitoring construction activity on major capital projects across Washington County. You'll serve as the County's eyes and ears on-site - ensuring work meets required standards, resolving field issues, and escalating concerns when needed. You'll build relationships with contractors and consultants while playing a vital role in delivering high-quality public infrastructure.Ideal Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
Conducting field inspections of capital infrastructure construction projects (sewer, stormwater, roadway, and more)
Monitoring ongoing work and ensuring it meets minimum standards, regulations, and approved plans
Preparing clear and detailed documentation including inspection daily reports
Reviewing construction documents and specifications to identify compliance and constructability issues
Supporting design reviews by providing real-world constructability insights
Responding to field issues and determining the steps to achieve a successful resolution

Two (2) years of responsible experience in road construction, road construction inspection, construction management, civil engineering, traffic engineering, or surveying, and work experience in an office or field setting; OR
An Associate's Degree in civil engineering or related field.Additional Requirments
