FASTSIGNS of Chicago - Ohio Street is hiring for a Full-time Graphic Designer/Sign Production Specialist to join our team!Benefits/Perks:Competitive PayTeamwork ApproachPaid Vacation and HolidayPerformance BonusOngoing Training OpportunitiesMedical, Dental and Retirement PlansDowntown locationA Successful FASTSIGNS Graphic Designer Will:Create and produce computer-generated full-color graphics and output vinyl that can be weeded, cut, and applied, or printed and mounted to various products from cars to substrates to buildings.Complete or modify designs from customer drawings, files, or the exact output of customer-provided design for output to mediaDetermine size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, select style and size of type, and arrange layout based upon available space, aesthetic design, and production requirements.Inspect jobs for accuracy before sending them to output. Ensure that the correct material is used for each job, and output device settings are accurateMaintain customer logo library; convert graphic filesYou will be part of the Production team responsible for the production of various prints on plotter, roll-to-roll printer, and flatbed printer.Prepare substrates for vinyl application to include cutting, painting, laminating, cleaning, etcWeed excess vinyl from computer-cut images.Trained to operate printers.Your job will involve various levels of artistic creativity, and you may interact with customers to ensure complete satisfaction with the final product.Ideal Qualifications for FASTSIGNS Graphic Designer:1-3 years of graphic design experienceSign Industry experience a plus!High School diploma or equivalentProficient in Adobe IllustratorExperience in operating printers or the ability to learn.Ability to prioritize jobs, multi-task, and work autonomouslyDetermine the best output method based on the customer's needsSit and view a computer screen for long periods (4 hours or more)Ability to work under pressure to output high volume, high-quality workPay is based on experienceDo you enjoy working with people?
