Description:La Segunda Bakery & Café Pastry Baker Job DescriptionLa Segunda Bakery & Café is in search of a Pastry Chef. The ideal candidate will have minimum of 2 years' experience in pastry or baking. You will learn to prep, bake off and finish a wide variety of handmade pastries. Ability to work well alone and as a team is a must. This position is for production and decorating. Candidate expected to produce a high volume of products for the restaurant.Duties:• Reports directly to the Pastry Supervisor on the shift• Come to work with clean, neat appearance and in uniform• Bake off pastry, per production sheet• Follow recipes per company standard• Mix, prepare and finish pastry per production sheet• Safely operate mixers, cookie machine and sheeter• Fill out operations book where necessary• Maintain La Segunda Bakery's high standards for product Quality• Abide by the health department requirements and maintain a clean work area• Responsible for an assigned clean up task at shift conclusion• Assisting in other duties as assigned by Pastry Supervisor or General Manager• Communicate with baking team to make sure showcases are properly stocked throughout the day.• Ensure pastries are fresh and thrown out if past due date.• Maintain a positive attitude of oneself and entire staffQualifications:• 1-2 years minimum experience in Pastry or Baking• Able to understand and follow instruction• Food preparation experience required• Able to work well with others but also self-motivated• Able to stand for long periods of time and work in heat• Must be able to work the overnight shift (8pm-4am Ybor only)• Must be able to work any time of the dayAdditional Compensation:Range: $15.00 -$18.00Benefits:Health insuranceDental insurance401k - Retirement planPaid time off/ paid vacationSick Days50% discount on MealsJob GrowthHalf Off-Insurance PremiumOpen Door PolicyFree bread everydayClosed July 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year's DayPay Frequency:Weekly pay on WednesdaysSchedule:Weekends requiredHolidays requiredUp to 10 hour shiftsRequirements:Qualifications:• 1-2 years minimum experience in Pastry or Baking• Able to understand and follow instruction• Food preparation experience required• Able to work well with others but also self-motivated• Able to stand for long periods of time and work in heat• Must be able to work the overnight shift (8pm-4am Ybor only)
