Kitchen Assistant

Position Title: Kitchen Assistant Position Type: Part-Time Pay: Wage DOE (Depending on Experience) Position Overview Meander at Shortgrass Resort is seeking a dependable, hardworking Kitchen Assistant to support our Executive Chef in delivering an exceptional dining experience for our guests. This position assists with food preparation, dishwashing, cleaning, organization, and maintaining the highest standards. The small team at Meander is professional, smart, and exceptionally good at what they do, maintaining a 5-star rating on OpenTable and Google. Hours & Availability Part-time (15-35 hours/week between 1 May and 30 Sep) Part-time (up to 15 hours/week between 1 Oct and 30 Apr) Evenings, weekends, and holidays likely Shifts vary, based on occupancy and events Responsibilities Support the Executive Chef to have a beautiful and delicious service Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment Maintain a clean and organized kitchen throughout service Assist with receiving, rotating, and storing food deliveries Wash and prep fruits, vegetables, herbs, and other ingredients Restock kitchen supplies and service stations Sweep, mop, and sanitize kitchen floors and work surfaces Remove trash, recycling, and compost throughout the shift Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures Assist with opening and closing kitchen duties Perform additional duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or management Requirements Dependable and punctual Positive attitude and willingness to learn Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift up to 25 pounds Ability to bend, reach, climb stairs, and perform physical work Weekend availability required Reliable transportation Location: 15 minutes north of Spearfish; 15 minutes south of Belle Fourche Job Type: Part-time Work Location: In person
