This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building automated infrastructure, improving software delivery pipelines, and working closely with software, systems, and cybersecurity teams to deliver secure, reliable solutions.The successful candidate will help drive infrastructure modernization, automate deployment processes, strengthen security throughout the development lifecycle, and support cloud and virtualization technologies in a collaborative engineering environment.Responsibilities: Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable on-premises cloud infrastructureBuild, enhance, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelinesAutomate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code and configuration management toolsDeploy and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes and DockerSupport AWS and VMware/vSphere resource provisioningMonitor infrastructure performance and improve reliability, availability, and securityTroubleshoot production infrastructure, networking, and deployment issuesImplement Zero Trust (ZT), STIG, and cybersecurity best practicesSupport patching, upgrades, vulnerability remediation, and CVE mitigationPackage, test, and deploy SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS solutionsCreate and maintain technical documentation including deployment guides, architecture documentation, and administration guidesMentor junior engineers and collaborate across development, cybersecurity, and infrastructure teamsTravel approximately 25% in support of customer, vendor, and partner activitiesRequired QualificationsActive Secret Security ClearanceExperience as a DevSecOps, DevOps, Platform, Systems, or Infrastructure EngineerHands-on experience with AWS GovCloud, cloud technologies, virtualization, and/or air-gapped environmentsExperience with Kubernetes, Docker, container orchestration, and GitLab CI/CDExperience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or ChefProficiency with Python, Bash, or PowerShell scriptingExperience administering Linux/Unix systemsFamiliarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Nagios, or ELKStrong troubleshooting, communication, and technical leadership skillsPreferred QualificationsMaster's degree in a technical disciplineSecurity+ certificationExperience with VMware, Zero Trust principles, STIG implementation, cybersecurity compliance, and platform engineeringExperience deploying and supporting SaaS, PaaS, or IaaS solutionsSoftware development experience beyond scriptingExperience working directly with customers and collaborating across multidisciplinary engineering teamsExperience mentoring or leading junior engineersThis position offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes significant profit-sharing opportunities, retirement plan, company-paid health, vision, and dental care benefits, flexible PTO, and bonus opportunities.The base salary range for this position is $135,700-$228,350 annually, based on full-time employment in the San Diego, California area.
