Accounting Manager

RDM Hospitality is a rapidly expanding hospitality group that oversees the flagship brand The Guest House in Austin, Scottsdale, and soon Dallas. We also operate Ember Kitchen. As our portfolio grows, we are strengthening our finance and accounting function and seeking a highly skilled Accounting Manager who can own the month end close, oversee accounts payable, and ensure GAAP based financial accuracy across multiple entities.This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast paced hospitality environment and wants a high responsibility position with long term advancement potential. The role is hybrid with a combination of in person collaboration in Austin and remote flexibility.Role SummaryThe Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing the complete month end close process across multiple restaurant and hospitality entities. The role requires strong GAAP knowledge, multi entity accounting experience, comfort with high transaction volumes, and the ability to improve workflows and internal controls. The Accounting Manager will support the Financial Controller and collaborate closely with restaurant operators, outsourced accounting partners, and company leadership.Our current software stack includes Restaurant365, Toast, and Paylocity. The company may transition to Sage Intacct in the future. Experience with any of these systems is highly valued.Key ResponsibilitiesMonth End CloseOwn the full month end close for all assigned locations.Prepare and reconcile all balance sheet accounts including cash, inventory, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accounts payable, payroll accruals, and intercompany balances.Generate accurate income statements and management reporting packages.Maintain a structured close calendar and ensure all deadlines are consistently met.Prepare supporting schedules for leadership, investors, and potential audit requirements.Accounts Payable OversightManage AP workflow including invoice processing, vendor communication, and payment scheduling.Review weekly payment runs for accuracy and completeness.Work closely with outsourced accounting teams to maintain proper AP coding, documentation, and vendor balances.Improve AP processes to reduce administrative strain on the Controller.General AccountingEnsure that all financial activity is recorded in accordance with GAAP.Maintain complete supporting documentation for all accounting activity.Assist with multi entity consolidations including preparation of elimination entries.Support cash flow needs and treasury coordination for each location.Assist with budgeting and forecasting when requested.Systems and Process ImprovementOperate effectively within Restaurant365, Toast, and Paylocity.Support data integrity across systems and help optimize integrations.Build and refine SOPs that strengthen the accounting function.Identify opportunities to automate workflows and streamline manual tasks.Provide support during a potential future migration to Sage Intacct.Stakeholder SupportCollaborate with restaurant managers, vendors, outsourced teams, and executive leadership.Assist in preparing financial information for internal management and external investors.Support audit related requests and compliance activities.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.Four to seven years of progressive accounting experience.Strong understanding of GAAP.Ability to manage the full month end close independently.Multi entity accounting experience.Strong Excel skills and comfort with accounting systems.Hospitality or restaurant accounting experience preferred.Ability to work in a hybrid environment with both remote and in person responsibilities.Strong communication skills and ability to partner with operators and leadership.Preferred QualificationsExperience with Restaurant365, Toast, or Paylocity.Experience with Sage Intacct or participation in an ERP migration.Experience creating SOPs or building internal controls.Experience supporting financial audits.Experience in a growing hospitality group.Who Thrives in This RoleSomeone who enjoys taking ownership and improving financial processes.Someone who stays organized while working across multiple deadlines and entities.Someone who enjoys working closely with restaurant operators and understands hospitality workflows.Someone who is detail oriented and committed to financial accuracy.
