Staples is investing to accelerate growth on marketplaces such as Amazon, Walmart and BestBuy. We are adding a **_Director Marketplace, Advertising_** to own the strategy layer above day to day execution: setting the quarterly advertising roadmap, defining the efficiency/growth thesis, establishing measurement rigor, and driving clear budget decisions across ad products.**_Key Responsibilities (What you will drive):_**+ Define quarterly advertising roadmap, and success metrics tied to business outcomes.+ Manage a substantial advertising budget with accountability for efficiency and revenue outcomes; set decision rules for pacing and reallocations.+ Own channel mix and investment strategy across various ad types, including how allocations evolve over time.+ Leverage Amazon Marketing Cloud (AMC) and related measurement approaches to assess incrementality and inform spend decisions.+ Operating cadence: run weekly business reviews that turn performance signals into decisions (what changed, why, what we'll do next).+ Agency partnership (strategic accountability): set expectations, evaluate recommendation quality, and ensure outputs are category specific and measurable (day to day agency ops handled by execution owner).**_Required Qualifications (Must Haves):_**+ 10+ years in performance marketing / ecommerce advertising with deep Amazon Ads experience and a clear progression from execution to strategy.+ Proven ability to define an advertising strategy thesis (what to change, why it works, and how to measure success) vs. applying generic best practices.+ Experience managing or partnering with an Amazon advertising agency, holding them accountable for strategic quality and outcomes.+ Strong written and verbal communication, ability to produce decision ready documents and influence senior stakeholders._The salary range represents the expected compensation for this role at the time of posting. The specific base pay may be influenced by a variety of factors to include the candidate's experience, skill set, education, geography, business considerations, and internal equity.
