Oracle PL/SQL Developer

We are looking for a Senior Team Lead with deep expertise in Oracle PL/SQL and Oracle Database (8+ years ) to lead enterprise-scale application development, modernization, and support programs. This role requires strong technical leadership, hands-on database architecture experience, and the ability to drive delivery excellence across cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate combines technical depth, people leadership, and stakeholder management to deliver high-quality, scalable, secure, and high-performing database solutions in complex enterprise environments.Key Responsibilities1) Technical Leadership & ArchitectureLead the design and development of Oracle database solutions using PL/SQL, SQL, packages, procedures, functions, triggers, cursors, and collections.Define and enforce database design standards, coding guidelines, naming conventions, and best practices.Drive database architecture decisions for scalability, security, performance, resiliency, and maintainability.Review and approve solution designs, PL/SQL code, data models, and technical documentation.Mentor developers on PL/SQL performance, query optimization, indexing strategy, and coding craftsmanship.2) Database Development & ModernizationModernize legacy database logic by refactoring monolithic PL/SQL into modular, reusable components.Design/implement data access patterns, APIs/contracts as needed (DB layer), and robust error handling.Support initiatives involving data platform upgrades, schema redesign, re-partitioning, and storage optimization.Work closely with architects and product teams to translate business requirements into efficient data models and database services.3) Performance Tuning & OptimizationDiagnose and resolve performance issues using execution plans, AWR/ASH reports, SQL Trace/TKPROF, and optimizer statistics.Optimize SQL queries, join strategies, index design (B-Tree, bitmap), partitioning, and materialized views.Improve batch performance via bulk collect/forall, pipelined functions, parallel execution, and advanced PL/SQL tuning techniques.4) Production Support & ReliabilityLead and coordinate L2/L3 production support for Oracle database components, including incident analysis and root-cause resolution.Implement proactive monitoring and performance baselining, and participate in on-call/critical support rotations as required.Ensure stability through release governance, rollback strategies, and robust deployment readiness checks.5) Security, Compliance & Data GovernanceEnsure adherence to enterprise security standards including least privilege, role-based access control, auditing, and secure coding.Implement measures for data protection, encryption (where applicable), masking, and compliance requirements.Ensure the database layer follows secure development lifecycle practices.6) Delivery Leadership & Stakeholder ManagementPlan and track delivery across sprints/releases; manage dependencies and risks; ensure predictable outcomes.Lead cross-functional collaboration with QA, DevOps, application teams, business stakeholders, and vendors.Provide regular status updates and ensure alignment on scope, timelines, and quality targets.
