Together with our customers, we drive innovations that are imperative to advancing national security.To help achieve these efforts, Stratolaunch is seeking a level II, Sr-, or Staff-level Data Systems/Network Engineer to support integration, testing, and operations of flight related networking, computer and telemetry systems. The data system - network is critical to mission success and interfaces with multiple subsystems, therefore this position will include collaborating with other system owners to understand test requirements and operations support needs. You must be comfortable receiving direction and guidance from lead data systems engineers and taking ownership of your responsibilities.Essential ResponsibilitiesContribute to data & telemetry system architecture, testing, & operation for local and extended range missionsSupport flight operations by ensuring data system assets are prepared for flight testDetermine data flow based on customer needs and system capability, advocate for upgraded systems when appropriateDevelop and maintain software tools as requiredDevelop and support telemetry, network, & data tests as requiredCollaborate with network engineers, data engineers, telemetry technicians as required to accomplish goalsComplete ownership of corporate network including switches, firewalls, routers, WiFi, NAC, cloud networking products, etc.Act as an expert resource for our Engineering team to provide best practices for our Airplane and Vehicle networksBe available during tests and missions on headset as a point of escalation for networking issuesRack, patch, and label devicesMaintain updated network diagrams and documentationUtilize a Change Control platform to keep changes documentedKeep all devices up to date, perform emergency updates if CVEs are releasedTroubleshoot and fix network related issuesWork with engineering to provide support and expertise for key networks and systemsAct as owner of various systems relating to our vehicles, control room, and simulator, and provide maintenance and upgrades as neededProvide high quality solutions to complex computer and network challengesDeploy and manage servers and workstationsAdminister network switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, RF equipment, and VOIPProvide project planning, management, and implementationWork in configuration-controlled environments and abide by configuration-control policiesEnsure systems are well documented and implemented with best practicesTravel to launch and/or recovery sites to support mission operationsQualifications & SkillsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. Required Qualifications: Experience in data, telemetry, network engineering in an operational or test environmentExperience with network engineering, TCP/IP, UDPExperience with troubleshooting Ethernet networksExperience with Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, and Aruba both GUI and CLIExperience with Aruba ClearpassExperience with network monitoring including Solarwinds OrionExperience with configuration and troubleshooting of IP routing protocols including BGP and OSPFExperience with network protocols and technologies including STP, IPsec, NAT, AAA, 802.1XExperience with server administration including Windows and LinuxExperience managing Active Directory, DHCP, DNSExperience with server virtualization including VMwareExperience with packet capture and traffic analysis including Wireshark, SPANAbility to obtain and maintain Security clearance Preferred Qualifications: Experience with IEEE 802.3 networking standards and IRIG-106 telemetry standardsExperience with being on a Mission Control Center console during flight operationsScripting including BASH and PythonVOIP Administration including Cisco Call ManagerCommunication Administration including ClearcomRF AnalysisSecurity clearance Required Computer Skills: MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Education & ExperienceLevel II ($101,000-$146,500): Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from accredited institution and 2-5 years of network engineering experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experienceSr-level ($120,500-$158,00): Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from accredited institution and 5-10 years of network engineering experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experienceStaff-level ($157,000-$206,000): Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from accredited institution and 10-20 years of network engineering experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experienceBase salary and leveling are established on a case-by-case basis.
