Fellowship Programs Manager & Lead TrainerDepartment of Medicine (DOM) - EducationFull Time88047BRJob SummaryThe Department of Medicine (DOM) Education Office is seeking a highly skilled and motivatedFellowship Program Manager & Lead Trainer.This newly created position is crucial for providing expert guidance on the educational administration of both ACGME and non-ACGME fellowship programs. The incumbent will report to the DOM Administrative Director of Education and lead a team of three fellowship administrators who support fellowships throughout divisions within DOM. Key Responsibilities:* Provide leadership, onboarding, training, mentoring, and motivation to DOM fellowship program administrators.
* Directly supervise 3 fellowship administrators
* Collaborate with DOM Education leadership to develop and implement guidelines, streamline processes, and establish internal controls to ensure high standards and cross-coverage mechanisms.
* Maintain a small portfolio of ACGME and/or non-ACGME fellowship programs.
* May provide short-term back-up support to fellowship programs in the absence of a fellowship administrator
The ideal candidate has extensive knowledge of Graduate Medical Education (GME) and previous program administration experience. Demonstrated leadership skills in training and guiding staff, adept at operationalizing policies, strong communication skills with a variety of stakeholders, are essential to the success of this role.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $120K - $160K (Annual Rate).

The DOM has an annual budget of ~$500M across three sites with ~3,000 employees. The DOM comprises 22% of all UCSF faculty, 26% of the SOM's faculty, and 20% of the SOM budget. For the past 30 years, the DOM has consistently ranked among the top four departments of medicine in the country, and in the past seven years, the department has been the number one recipient of NIH research dollars.The Department of Medicine's mission is research, both basic and clinical, teaching, patient care and public service. The Department has a decentralized organizational structure across six sites - Parnassus, SFGH, VAMC, Mt. Zion, Laurel Heights, and Mission Bay, with approximately 40 divisions. Authority and accountability for the Education Division programs resides with the Associate Chair for Education who works with Residency and Clinical Fellowship Program Directors at all sites to achieve the academic mission.The UCSF DOM hosts 21 ACGME fellowship programs, 20 non-ACGME programs with over 230 ACGME and non-ACGMEfellows. These programs are some of the best in the country, leading in clinical care and research.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in related area and five or more years of relevant experience which includes three or more years of supervisory experience and/or equivalent experience/training.
Skills to evaluate issues and identify solutions within defined procedures and policies. Demonstrated ability to solve problems and suggest solutions through critical thinking process.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Prior supervisory, managerial or lead experience overseeing a team
Prior experience as an administrator in graduate medical education
Demonstrated leadership skills in training and guiding employees on educational techniques. Motivates and inspires staff to improve the health profession education services.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively to meet deadlines in a complex, challenging environment. Ability to organize assigned staff and unit operations in an efficient and effective manner.
Knowledge of the health professions education industry, administrative analysis and operations research. Knowledge of assigned program requirements and curriculum.
Knowledge of department, organization, HR and university policies and processes. Current knowledge of relevant industry federal, state and local laws and regulations including national accrediting organizations and state and federal licensing and regulatory offices.
Effective communication skills with peers, learners, faculty, and other education program coordinators/managers.Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in related area preferred
