General DescriptionThe primary responsibility of the Podium Supervisor is to support restaurant managers by leading the day-to-day operations for the Host/Hostess team. This person must possess effective leadership skills, including relationship building, delegation, coaching and training. In addition, the Podium Supervisor must be very organized, and be able to multi-task and prioritize successfully. This person must be able to make decisions quickly without supervision, and must effectively communicate with all guests and team members.Work DutiesProvide guidance, leadership, coaching and training for the Host/Hostess teamProvide leadership support as needed for the entire front-of-house team, which may include opening or closing shifts as the on-duty supervisorProvide leadership guidance and assistance at the Point-of-Sale systems as neededAssist with guest satisfaction checks and provide guest recovery as neededDelegate tasks to Host/Hostess team as appropriateAnswer phone in a timely and appropriate mannerPrepare and maintain Host/Hostess area for guest arrivalProperly and efficiently utilize the restaurant reservation, seating and paging systemsPolitely greet all guests in a timely fashionLead guests to the table and seat guests in an appropriate fashionPolitely inform guests of wait times and prepare wait lists as necessaryAnswer any guest questions as necessaryOffer all guests a fond farewellHave basic knowledge of acceptable forms of payment and the Disney Dining PlanMaintain personal appearance and hygiene in a manner consistent with Disney and Company standardsPerform work duties in compliance with all Company guidelines and policiesDisplay proper food safety procedures at all timesFollow all necessary laws and processes for the safe service of alcoholWork closely with all other team members and display good teamworkFollow the Disney 5-Keys Basics, Service Basics and Company Guidelines at all timesAll other tasks as assignedNOTE: This Job Description is subject to change at any timePosition RequirementsWork Experience & Education RequirementsMinimum of one year of restaurant experienceMinimum of a high school diploma or equivalentMinimum of three years of previous host/hostess experience preferredPrevious leadership experience preferredPrevious experience in a high-volume, upscale restaurant environment preferredKnowledge of Mexican cuisine and beverages a plusMust have or be able to obtain a State of Florida Food Safety CertificateMust have or be able to obtain a Florida Responsible Vendors CertificateMust be well versed in food safety - including proper techniques for handling food and personal hygiene requirementsMust be well versed in laws and company practices regarding the safe and legal service of alcoholic beveragesWorking Conditions & Physical RequirementsMust be able to perform all necessary job functionsMust be able to stand and be mobile for up to 4 consecutive hoursMust be able to function in narrow spaces, such as those found in kitchens and dining roomsMust be able to lift and carry equipment/food up to 50 poundsMust be able to push and pull (carts, doors etc.)Must be able to reach, bend, kneel, stoop and crouchMust be able to perform repetitive tasksMust be able to complete work duties in a variety of environmental conditions, including coolers, freezers, kitchen environments and outdoorsMust be able to work around foods containing various food allergensMust be able to communicate and interact politely and effectively with guests of all typesMust be able to effectively satisfy guest demandsMust be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environmentMust be able to effectively communicate with, train, and coach other team membersMust be fluent in the English languageMust be available to work weekends and holidaysMust be able to arrive for all assigned shifts on-timeMust be able to comply company appearance guidelinesPositionPodium Supervisor DivisionSprings Food Service at WDW Coronado Springs Resort LocationRix Sports Bar This position is currently accepting applications.
