This position is responsible for assisting in keeping the bar area stocked with essential items such as spirits, beer, wine, mixers, ice, and garnishes, including transporting products from storage areas to the outlet (which may involve operating a golf cart when applicable). In addition, this person often assists with the preparation of essential bar products. Finally, the Barback plays an important role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the bar area and may be called upon to deliver food and beverage orders to guests, as well as collect empty glasses from tables.Palmas Restaurant Group is always seeking highly talented individuals, who have the passion and drive necessary to make our guests feel truly welcome and cared for. We are excited by your interest and hope you choose to apply with us!WORK DUTIESPrepare the bar area for guest arrivalMaintain proper levels of all essential bar items during serviceAssist bartender with any necessary tasksReceive and properly store all liquor, beer and wine ordersWork with bartender to ensure proper par levels of all bar items are maintainedMaintain the bar area in a clean and organized conditionPrepare essential bar products such as simple syrup, fresh lime juice, and drink mixes as necessaryComplete all assigned opening and closing dutiesDisplay proper food safety procedures at all timesFollow all necessary laws and processes for the safe service of alcoholWork closely with all other team members and display good teamworkFollow the Disney 5-Keys Basics, Service Basics and Company guidelines at all timesAll other tasks as assignedNOTE: This Job Description is subject to change at any timePosition RequirementsWORK EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTSMinimum of one year of restaurant experienceMinimum of a high school diploma or equivalentPrevious bartending or barback experience preferredKnowledge of Mexican cuisine and beverages a plusMust have or be able to obtain a State of Florida Food Safety CertificateMust have or be able to obtain a Florida Responsible Vendors CertificateMust be well versed in food safety - including proper techniques for handling food and personal hygiene requirementsMust be well versed in laws and company practices regarding the safe and legal service of alcoholic beveragesWORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSMust be able to perform all necessary job functions.Must be able to operate a golf cart.Must be able to stand and be mobile for up to 4 consecutive hoursMust be able to function in narrow spaces, such as those found in kitchens and dining roomsMust be able to lift and carry equipment/food up to 50 poundsMust possess dexterity in lifting and carrying trays and other restaurant itemsMust be able to push and pull (carts, doors etc.)Must be able to reach, bend, kneel, stoop and crouchMust be able to perform repetitive tasksMust be able to complete work duties in a variety of environmental conditions, including coolers, freezers, kitchen environments and outdoorsMust be able to work with foods containing various food allergensMust be able to communicate and interact politely and effectively with guests of all typesMust be able to effectively satisfy guest demandsMust be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environmentMust be fluent in the English languageMust be available to work weekends and holidaysMust be able to arrive for all assigned shifts on-timeMust be able to comply company appearance guidelinesPositionBarback DivisionSprings Food Service at WDW Coronado Springs Resort LocationSiestas Pool Bar & Grill This position is currently accepting applications.
