Low voltage Communications Foreman
VectorUSA is looking for a Communications Foreman, this is an opportunity to join the expanding installation team of a well-established, growing technology company. We are looking for a motivated individual with 4-6 years’ experience that possess in-depth knowledge of all of the technical disciplines required to successfully complete installations consisting of premise low voltage distribution systems. Required knowledge includes the ability to oversee, physically perform, and train people in the tasks associated with installing, maintaining, testing and troubleshooting jobs according to Vector’s standards.Note: This is NOT a live event or production support position.VectorUSA is a premiere technology company, designing, building and maintaining voice, data and video networks throughout the country. As Vector expands our range of services, we continue to deliver smart technology solutions including Unified Communications and Collaboration, Innovative Infrastructure, Intelligent Surveillance, and Managed Solutions, helping businesses operate more securely and efficiently.Responsibilities (including But Not Limited To)Perform all levels of Telecommunications Technicians positions; outside plant; aerial applications; underground applications; station protectionSafety procedures for all disciplinesComplete knowledge of network topologies including Star, Bus, Ring, 10base 5, 10base T, 802.5 Token Ring, CDDI, FDDI, FOIRL, TPDDI, IBM System 3, Sonnet-Fiber, ISDNThorough knowledge of intra-building connectivity for both horizontal and vertical distribution systemsAbility to interpret and understand all scopes of workAbility to adapt to physical environment and changes in the environmentAbility to engineer and design distribution systemsMust demonstrate job knowledge in low voltage distribution systems sufficiently to ensure customer confidencePossess the ability and knowledge to interact with MIS managers, corporate executives and business owners on the level of an expert consultantCoordinate with customers to assure customer knows project status; ensure full knowledge of customers’ desires; to personally ensure customer satisfaction.Ability to recognize changes in scope of work; communicate changes in scope of work to engineers, account executives and Operations ManagersCommunicate changes in scope of work and cost to customers; obtain approval of change orders; obtain signed proposalsCoordinate with Purchasing; ensuring certain required tools and materials are provided100% accountable for every aspect of his/her workTakes responsibility for communicating pertinent information regarding the project to design engineers, account executives, and Operations ManagerBeing available 24/7 if emergencies arise that are work relatedAbility to overcome adversityAbility to use experience and knowledge to enhance methods and develop creative solutionsMinimum RequirementsHigh School diploma or GED4-6 years’ experience installing infrastructure solutionsThree years of relevant experience in the telecommunications industry preferredFull knowledge of color codesAbility to oversee, physically perform, and train people in the tasks associated with installing, maintaining, testing and troubleshooting communications infrastructure.Complete knowledge of Star, 10base-T, Bus and Ring topologiesComplete knowledge of intra-building connectivity for both horizontal and vertical distribution systemsAbility to adapt physical environment and changes in the environment and engineer a solutionAbility to read Blue Prints and understand Engineered DesignsExcellent communication skills; strong customer service skillsMust be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, OutlookMust be able to pass a post-offer drug screen, physical, background check, and Livescan fingerprint checksMust have reliable transportation (able to accommodate a 6’ ladder), valid driver’s license, and own toolsMust be able to lift 50 pounds; must be able to bend, stoop, reach, climbPreferred RequirementsIndustry certifications a plus2-3 years’ experience terminating fiber strongly preferred Ability to organize workAbility to work under pressureBasic mathematical skillsPossess in-depth knowledge of all of the technical disciplines required of Level 2 and 3 TechniciansAbility to interpret and understand all scopes of work associated with Level 2 and 3 TechniciansAbility to adapt physical environment and changes in the environment and engineer a solutionWe OfferCompetitive pay up to $45.00/hr.
