Elementary Math CoordinatorPrimary PurposeThe Elementary Math Coordinator is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of PK5 Math aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), district vision, and strategic plan. This position supports high-quality instruction through our Splendora Instructional Framework (SIF), coaching, professional learning, curriculum design, and data-driven decision-making. The coordinator collaborates with teachers, campus leaders, and district staff to ensure rigorous, engaging, and vertically aligned instructional programs that prepare all students to be life-ready.QualificationsMaster's degree from an accredited college or university preferredMinimum of three (3) years of successful classroom teaching experienceValid Texas teacher certificationDemonstrated leadership ability with strong interpersonal and communication skillsKnowledge of curriculum implementation, design, instructional best practices, and assessment systemsContent expertise in science and/or social studies preferredFamiliarity with the academic and developmental needs of PK-5 students Essential FunctionsLead the development, implementation, and evaluation of a rigorous, TEKS-aligned PK5 math curriculumEnsure vertical and horizontal alignment of curriculum, instruction, and assessment across grade levels and campusesCollaborate with campus administrators and teachers to support effective instructional practices and improve student achievementAnalyze student performance data (e.g., MAP, SBA, STAAR, benchmarks) to identify trends and support targeted instructional planningDesign and deliver high-quality professional development aligned to district initiatives, the Splendora Instructional Framework, and best practices in mathematics instructionSupport teachers in implementing research-based instructional strategies, including inquiry-based learning, literacy integration, and critical thinkingAssist with the selection, implementation, and evaluation of instructional materials, textbooks, and digital resourcesCoordinate and support district initiatives and programs (e.g., interventions, summer school, enrichment opportunities, academic competitions)Collaborate with other curriculum coordinators to ensure interdisciplinary connections and continuity across content areasProvide coaching and support through instructional walkthroughs, PLC participation, and ongoing feedback to improve classroom practicesMaintain and organize curriculum resources, instructional materials, and professional learning supportsAssist in the development and management of budgets related to curriculum, instructional materials, and program needsStay current with state and national trends, research, and policies impacting science and social studies educationServe as a liaison between the district, campuses, and community partners to support academic initiatives and student opportunitiesUtilize data systems and software to disaggregate data and provide actionable insights for campus and district leadersPerform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and LearningWorking ConditionsRegular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental FactorsTools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including a personal computer and peripheralsPosture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twistingMotion: Repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding, and use of a mouse; occasional reachingLifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)Environment: Frequent district-wide travelMental DemandsWork with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stressOther InformationThe District contributes $330 monthly toward the cost of the employee-only health insurance, which is $105 more than the state-required amount of $225/month.
