Instructional Manager - Elementary Bilingual
ELEMENTARY BILINGUAL INSTRUCTIONAL MANAGER (ELAR/SLAR)Position DescriptionThe Elementary Bilingual Instructional Manager will support the adoption and implementation of HQIM at partner school districts. The Elementary Bilingual Instructional Manager will design and deliver training and conduct side-by-side coaching that builds educators' capacity to implement Bluebonnet Learning, specifically Bluebonnet Learning K-5 ELAR and K-5 SLAR (Texas-adopted version of Amplify Reading). To achieve this impact, the Instructional Manager will:Coach & Develop Leaders & Teachers (School Year)Engage in regular in-person coaching visits with teachers and campus leadersDesign and deliver in-person and/or virtual professional development sessions to leadersDevelop trusting relationships with each teacher and leaderSupport leaders and teachers to implement high-quality instructional materials (HQIM)Review student data and student work to measure and monitor students' learningUtilize and manage coaching trackers that track progress of leaders and teachers' progressSupport leaders and leadership teams to internalize research-based curriculumReport and work closely with the Managing Director and other team members to plan and execute training, coaching, and other development activities for education leadersProvide in-person and remote support to teachers that empowers them to enhance the quality of instructionDevelop & Refine Coaching and Training Tools (Summer, On-Going as needed)Internalize the SustainED Leaders' coaching model and leadership development programsDevelop online and physical coaching tools and frameworks to be used in daily and weekly coachingDesign in-person and/or virtual training materialsPlan and prepare for each side-by-side coaching experienceCreate and refine coaching tools and frameworks that will support teachers to internalize and implement research-based curriculumBuild coaching tools that leaders can use to support the implementation and management of cultural, data, and instructional systemsCreate and/or refine weekly coaching agendas and coaching plans for ongoing coachingStrategic Partner (On-Going)Meet with school leaders to establish partnershipsPartner with SustainED Leaders' team to design and develop programmingCollaborate with SustainED Leaders' team to determine highest leverage strategic decisions for programmingEvaluate ProgramCollect and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of coaching and developmentRefine and redesign coaching and training based on data to increase effectivenessPosition QualificationsThe Instructional Manager will have a minimum of two years of teaching experience and two years of additional leader experience, and have a track record of coaching and developing teachers to accelerate learning and growth for all students. The Instructional Manager will be an experienced educator who is dedicated to the mission of developing the next generation of outstanding school teachers and leaders.Additional QualificationsDeep understanding and knowledge of high-quality instructional materials, specifically Bluebonnet Learning K-5 ELAR and K-5 SLAR (Texas-adopted version of Amplify Reading).Demonstrated record of academic achievement and improving student outcomes as a teacher and education leaderA results orientation and commitment to holding self and others accountable for maximizing learning and growth for all studentsThe ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholdersExcellent written and oral communication skills, as well as inter- and intra-personal skillsExperience managing or coaching teachers to achieve ambitious goalsSignificant experience using data to achieve academic resultsDeeply held belief that all children can learn and achieve at high levels regardless of race, gender, or socio-economic backgroundDesire to play a major role in the growth and evolution of a transformative startup organizationRequirementsGraduate degree in education (preferred)A minimum of two years teaching experience plus at least two additional years of leader experienceA minimum of two years in an instructional leadership role (principal, dean/assistant principal, instructional coach, teacher leader, and/or demo teacher)Experience coaching and supporting teachers (leading observation and feedback, leading PLC meetings, analyzing data and planning interventions)Experience supporting bilingual or dual language elementary classrooms, including aligning high-quality instructional materials to bilingual/ESL program models and developing both content knowledge and academic language.Demonstrated track record of driving strong student outcomes as a teacher and in coaching and developing teachers to accelerate learning for all studentsCommitment to Core ValuesSustainED Leaders operates with a commitment to its core values and seeks to build a team of individuals who share a commitment to those core values. This role requires in-field work up to five (5) days per week and may include out-of-town travel up to ten (10) days per month. A valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle are required for this position.Additionally, this role requires sitting, standing, and walking for prolonged periods of time and may require lifting and/or moving items up to 25 pounds.
