Heavy Industrial Manual Machinist

Job Description Salary: $20-35/HR Depending on ExperienceCMMC Machine, LLC is seeking full time Industrial Machinists to join our team. Manual Machinists set up and operate manual machines to confidently produce high-quality components with accuracy and efficiency. Manual Machinists should be familiar with manually controlled machines and benchwork in the fabrication, maintenance, repair and alteration of machinery, machine parts, tools, and equipment.Applicant must be a US citizen. Access to DoD facilities is required. Company is not able to sponsor work visa for this position.Major Responsibilities & Essential FunctionsSet up, adjust, and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instrumentsRead and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints and follow their instructionsMachine parts out of metalProperly and safely select, align, secure, and remove holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machinesRecognize, deploy, and properly use inserts, fixtures, and toolingMust be able to determine the proper tools required to perform given taskOperate and utilizes lifting aids as necessary to perform workUse gauges and precision measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirementsPerform daily, regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery and equipmentPerform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner while maintaining safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulationsWork overtime as needed on evenings and/or weekendsCommunicates with others to coordinate work in plantOther duties as assignedPreferred Machining SkillsFamiliarity with the use of: Heavy Duty Horizontal Lathes, Milling Machines, Horizontal Boring Mills, Vertical Turning Lathes, Planers, Grinders, Drill Presses, Hydraulic Presses, Band Saws, and Portable ToolsTurning, Drilling, Tapping, Boring, Honing, Polishing machine processesLarge part machining experience preferred (ship propeller shafting, ship steering gear, etc.)In-place machining experience is desiredForklift and Crane experience preferredShifts: Positions on both Day and Night Shifts are AvailableBenefitsMedical, Dental and Vision InsuranceCompany provided Medical Clinic/Pharmacy access401K with company matchPaid Time OffShort Term Disability and basic Life Insurance provided by companySupplementary Insurance: Accident, Critical Illness, Voluntary Life/AD&D, and Long Term Disability availableEmployee Assistance ProgramsQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED3 to 5 years of related experience is preferred.Language skills - effectively communicate and understand job instructions verbally and written in EnglishAbility to effectively interpret and translate instructions to other employees in a professional and respectful mannerAbility and willingness to learnAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusionsAbility to interpret various technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variablesA strong, proven interest in engineering and mechanical systemsAbility to read and interpret blueprintsAbility to read precision measuring toolsAbility to perform basic mathematical computationsAbility to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situationsAbility to work independently and as part as a teamBasic understanding of Microsoft Word and ExcelPhysical DemandsAbility to move or transfer products with an overhead craneAbility to lift and move up to 50 lbs. at a time when requiredWhile performing the job duties, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach overhead with hands and arms, stoop, crouch, kneel, climb ladders, and use stairsSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focusThe employee will also be expected to spend time using a computerWork EnvironmentThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
