Experienced Heavy Industrial Manual Machinist

Job DescriptionCMMC Machine, LLC is seeking full time experienced Industrial Machinists to join our team. If you have a passion for precision machining and are looking for a challenging and rewarding position, this may be the shop for you! Machinists set up and operate manual machines to confidently produce high-quality components with accuracy and efficiency. Machinists should be familiar with manually controlled machines and benchwork in the fabrication, maintenance, repair and alteration of machinery, machine parts, tools, and equipment.\n\nApplicant must be a US citizen. Access to DoD facilities is required. Company is not able to sponsor work visa for this position.\n\nMajor Responsibilities & Essential Functions\n\nSet up, adjust, and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments\nRead and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints and follow instructions\nMachine parts out of metal\nProperly and safely select, align, secure, and remove holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines\nRecognize, deploy, and properly use inserts, fixtures, and tooling\nMust be able to determine the proper tools required to perform given task\nOperate and utilizes lifting aids as necessary to perform work\nUse gauges and precision measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements\nPerform daily, regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment\nPerform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner while maintaining safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations\nWork overtime as needed on evenings and/or weekends\nCommunicates with others to coordinate work in plant\nOther duties as assigned\n\n\nPreferred Machining Skills\n\nFamiliarity with the use of: Heavy Duty Horizontal Lathes, Milling Machines, Horizontal Boring Mills, Vertical Turning Lathes, Planers, Grinders, Drill Presses, Hydraulic Presses, Band Saws, and Portable Tools\nTurning, Drilling, Tapping, Boring, Honing, Polishing machine processes\nLarge part machining experience preferred (ship propeller shafting, ship steering gear, etc.)\nIn-place machining experience is desired\nForklift and Crane experience preferred\n\n\nShifts: Positions on both Day and Night Shifts are Available\n\nBenefits\n\nMedical, Dental and Vision Insurance\nCompany provided Medical Clinic/Pharmacy access\n401K with company match\nPaid Time Off\nShort Term Disability and basic Life Insurance provided by company\nSupplementary Insurance: Accident, Critical Illness, Voluntary Life/AD&D, and Long Term Disability available\nEmployee Assistance Programs\nOpportunity for yearly bonus, profit sharing, overtime, and night shift differential\n\n\nQualifications\n\nHigh school diploma or GED\n5 to 10 years of related experience is preferred.\nLanguage skills - effectively communicate and understand job instructions verbally and written in English. Ability to effectively interpret and translate instructions to other employees in a professional and respectful manner\nAbility and willingness to learn\nAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions\nAbility to interpret various technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables\nA strong, proven interest in engineering and mechanical systems\nAbility to read and interpret blueprints\nAbility to read precision measuring tools\nAbility to perform basic mathematical computations\nAbility to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations\nAbility to work independently and as part as a team\nBasic understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel\n\n\n\nPhysical Demands\n\nAbility to move or transfer products with an overhead crane\nAbility to lift and move up to 50 lbs. at a time when required\nWhile performing the job duties, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach overhead with hands and arms, stoop, crouch, kneel, climb ladders, and use stairs\nSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus\nThe employee will also be expected to spend time using a computer\n\n\nWork Environment\nThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
