Technical Program Manager

Program Manager – Technical - Lisle, IL Overview: We are seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager to lead and manage complex product development and manufacturing insourcing programs for commercial vehicles. This role requires oversight of cross-functional teams and responsibility for program success in terms of quality, schedule, and financial performance. The successful candidate will thrive in a dynamic, matrixed environment, demonstrating leadership without direct authority and proactive problem-solving skills. Key Responsibilities: Develop detailed program scope, budgets, and schedules aligned with leadership intent. Perform critical path analysis using Microsoft Project, cPlace, Jira, and other project planning tools. Lead resolution of complex technical and programmatic challenges, including unprecedented issues. Chair recurring program Configuration Change Boards (CCB) and oversee corrective actions. Lead risk and issue investigations, ensuring mitigation strategies are in place. Present program updates to senior management and C-suite executives. Identify and allocate resources for cross-functional program teams. Manage programs from initiation through delivery, interfacing with internal and external stakeholders. Provide coaching and informal guidance to colleagues with less experience. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of technical project/program management experience and at least 1 year in a lead role, OR Master’s degree with 6+ years of technical project/program management experience and at least 1 year in a lead role, OR 10+ years of technical project/program management experience with at least 1 year in a lead role. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt required; Black Belt highly preferred. Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (H-1B sponsorship not provided). Desired Skills and Experience: Experience managing programs integrating software and hardware into products. Understanding of automotive functional software development processes, including HIL, Bench, On-Vehicle Software, and Calibration maturity. Agile development experience, including Jira for sprint planning. Proven ability to manage teams across multiple regions, time zones, and cultures. PMP or PgMP certification strongly preferred. MBA strongly preferred. Experience presenting to C-suite executives and working in large organizations (e.g., Boeing, Caterpillar, Tier 1 suppliers).
