Quality Inspector

The Quality Inspector II is responsible for performing inspections throughout various stages of the manufacturing process to ensure aerospace components and assemblies meet customer, company, and industry quality standards. This role identifies and communicates quality issues, maintains inspection records, and supports compliance with the company's Quality Management System (QMS). Key Responsibilities Conduct detailed inspections of aerospace components, assemblies, and first article inspections to verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards. Utilize precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges, and other inspection equipment to accurately verify dimensions and tolerances. Inspect incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products for defects, discrepancies, or non-conformities. Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements. Verify that all measuring and testing equipment is properly calibrated and operating within established tolerances. Assist with calibration activities and ensure measuring tools comply with applicable industry standards and regulations. Partner with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams to resolve quality concerns and support corrective actions. Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the quality system. Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements related to inspection and quality processes. Use Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications to record inspection data, analyze results, and generate reports. Experience Minimum of 3-4 years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace or precision machining. Proven ability to use and interpret measurements from precision inspection tools and gauges to determine product conformance. Intermediate to advanced ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T). Ability to calculate stacked GD&T dimensions and evaluate compliance with customer and company specifications. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to quality standards. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Qualifications Needed Experience performing First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with aerospace industry standards. Familiarity with AS9100 and Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
