Full-Time Tenure Track Faculty & Program Coordinator for Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Programs Salary: $81,176 - $112,865* annually Department/Division: Healthcare Report to: Dean of Nursing & Allied Health Proposed Start Date: 09/03/2026 Olympic College seeks a full-time, tenure-track Emergency Medical Services (EMS) faculty member and program coordinator to support instruction, coordination, and continuous improvement in the proposed Emergency Medical Services Programs planned to start in Fall 2026. The faculty member will deliver high-quality EMS instruction through lecture, skills lab, simulation, clinical, and field-based learning environments while supporting student success, adjunct mentorship, and program evaluation. Serve as the primary contact and representative for the EMS programs. Teach evening, distance, and branch campus courses when required for EMT and EMS coursework in lecture, lab, simulation, and field settings. Provide quality teaching including related preparation, grading, and record keeping. Oversee the administration, organization, and supervision of the EMS programs, including compliance with all administrative and educational standards throughout the educational programs. Develop and maintain education program policies. Provide student advising, remediation, and timely communication. Identify individual learning needs of students and make appropriate adjustments in learning environments and activities. Oversee continuous quality review and improvement of the EMS programs, including leading and contributing to the development and maintenance of EMS curriculum and student learning outcomes. Maintain academic oversight of the EMS programs, including curriculum planning and development. Lead the orientation/training and supervision of clinical and capstone field internship preceptors. Ensure all educational resources necessary for teaching all course content, and an appropriate inventory of course materials and supplies are available for use by course faculty. Oversee recordkeeping in the EMS programs, including: Timely completion and submission of course completion documents (including completion certificates) for tracking by the county, state, and Medical Program Director Course data for submission with the National Registry Student knowledge and skills verification with the National Registry Punctual communication with students, faculty, staff, and administrators. Maintain physical office hours for student consultation. Attend faculty, department, and division meetings and serve on college committees. Serve on appropriate college and community committees. Assist with coordination of courses, labs, clinical placements, and field internships. Support adjunct faculty onboarding and instructional quality. Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor's degree in a health-related field, Emergency Medical Services, or education from an accredited institution. Documented education or experience in instructional methodology Three (3) years field experience at Paramedic level (delivery of prehospital emergency care). Current Washington State EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic. Current Washington State EMS Evaluator certification. Obtain Washington State Senior EMS instructor (SEI) within 12 months of hire. Experience in prehospital emergency care and hands-on skills instruction. Knowledge of Washington State Department of Health EMS training requirements. Knowledge about the current versions of the National EMS Scope of Practice and National EMS Standards, and about evidenced-informed clinical practice. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in healthcare, education, public safety, or related field. Experience teaching in EMT or Paramedic education programs. Experience with CoAEMSP/CAAHEP accreditation standards. BLS Instructor certification through the American Heart Association. Experience with Canvas, simulation technology, and adjunct mentoring. Faculty members must submit official, unopened transcripts to the Human Resources department within30 days of their employment. This is a full-time faculty position contracted on an annual basis. Placement on the faculty salary schedule will be commensurate with educational background and experience. The salary will be prorated to reflect the actual contract days remaining in the academic year. The salary listed is a range based on per month for the quarter. A collective bargaining agreement exists, and this position is covered by the Association for Higher Education (AHE). Flexibility is required to meet the needs of the department. Evening and/or weekend classes, instruction at satellite Olympic College campuses, and off-campus assignments may be a part of the instructional load.
