This role involves analyzing drawings and specifications, coordinating with project teams, and developing detailed bids for commercial, industrial, and/or institutional projects. The Senior Estimator also mentors junior estimators and helps refine estimating processes and standards.Job Description:Lead the preparation of detailed electrical estimates for large and complex projectsReview project plans, specifications, and related documents to determine scope and requirementsPerform quantity take-offs for electrical systems including power, lighting, low voltage, and special systemsSolicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotesDevelop labor, material, and equipment cost estimatesIdentify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving strategiesConduct risk analysis and ensure all project factors are considered in pricingPrepare bid proposals and participate in bid reviews and presentationsCollaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients during preconstructionMaintain and update cost databases and estimating toolsSupport project handoff to operations teams after awardMentor and train junior estimating staff Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)5+ years of electrical estimating experience, preferably with an electrical contractorStrong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and construction practicesProven experience estimating commercial and/or industrial projectsProficiency in estimating software (e.g., Accubid, ConEst, or similar)Strong understanding of labor units, productivity rates, and material pricingAbility to read and interpret construction drawings and specificationsExcellent analytical, organizational, and communication skillsExperience with design-build and design-assist projectsKnowledge of BIM and digital takeoff toolsStrong negotiation and vendor management skillsAbility to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneouslyLeadership and team development experienceOUR MISSIONWe build critical infrastructure that creates a better world.OUR VISIONWe strive to be the preeminent full-service civil, building, and specialty contractor by delivering innovative, transformative projects through world-class execution.
