Meat ManagerThe Meat Manager is responsible for overseeing all meat department operations, including product quality, food safety, inventory management, merchandising, team leadership, and financial performance. This role ensures compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements while driving sales, controlling shrink, and delivering an exceptional customer experience.Leadership & Team DevelopmentLead, coach, train, and develop meat department associates to meet performance and service expectationsCreate effective schedules aligned with business needs and labor standardsProvide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and corrective action as neededEnsure associates are properly trained in meat cutting, packaging, food safety, and customer serviceMeat Department OperationsOversee daily operations including cutting, trimming, grinding, wrapping, and merchandising meat productsEnsure adherence to quality, freshness, portion control, and presentation standardsManage ordering, forecasting, inventory levels, and product rotationEnsure department equipment is maintained, cleaned, and safely operatedFood Safety & ComplianceEnsure strict compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulationsMaintain accurate temperature logs, sanitation schedules, and required documentationEnsure proper handling, storage, labeling, and rotation of all meat productsPrepare for and respond to internal and external auditsSales, Margin & Shrink ControlDrive sales through effective merchandising, promotional execution, and seasonal programsMonitor margins, shrink, spoilage, and markdowns to meet financial targetsAnalyze sales trends and production data to optimize labor and product mixControl department expenses and support overall store profitabilityCustomer ExperienceDeliver exceptional customer service and resolve escalated customer concernsEnsure product availability, freshness, and department presentation meet customer expectationsMaintain a clean, organized, and customer-ready department at all times
