Long-Term Care Nurse (RN) | Winnemucca, Nevada

A registered nurse with experience in rehabilitation and long-term care (LTC) is needed to support a skilled nursing environment attached to a critical-access hospital. This contract position is located in Winnemucca, NV, within a 34-bed nursing home specializing in semi-private rooms and comprehensive care for residents with complex medical needs.Key Responsibilities:Deliver nursing care focused on residents with COPD, diabetes, cognitive deficits, and other comorbidities.Administer medications, manage simple IVs and tubes (IV certification not required for LPNs).Provide leadership including charge nurse duties and participation in interdisciplinary team meetings.Collaborate with PT/OT/SLP, DON, Resident Care Coordinators, and medical staff for coordinated resident care.Utilize Cerner EMR system for accurate and timely documentation.Participate in modified self-scheduling with flexibility to support staffing needs including weekends and holidays.Float to memory care unit as needed.Qualifications and Experience:Current RN licensure with BLS certification required.Experience caring for patients with cognitive deficits, demonstrating strong skills in patient redirection and communication.Previous leadership experience preferred.Familiarity with skilled nursing facility operations and Cerner EMR beneficial.First-time travelers are welcome to apply.Willingness to confirm housing arrangements prior to assignment.Schedule:12-hour shifts, typically from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.Staffing ratios vary by shift, typically 1 RN to 11 patients during the day.Weekend and holiday rotations as needed, no call or standby requirements.Location Overview: Winnemucca, NV, offers a unique blend of small-town charm and access to outdoor recreation.
