Payroll Accountant Jobs
Payroll AccountantPayroll Accountant Location: 1 position available to be located onsite in Prince Frederick, MD or Bellevue, NE. Travel: Occasional travel required approximately three (3) times per year for training and corporate meetings. As a Payroll Accountant, you will be responsible for assisting the Finance department in all facets of accounting including, but not limited to: Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Contract Management, Expense Management, Cash Management, Budgeting, Forecasting, Taxes and Internal and External Audits.
Who You Are and What You Need:
Bachelor's degree preferred
Minimum of four (4) years in budgeting or finance
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in payroll processing
Prior experience with payroll software
Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, labor laws, and tax compliance
Previous experience with Unanet preferred
Federal Contracting experience preferred
Understanding of Federal Government Contract Compliance Regulations found in the FAR, CAS, etc.
DCAA audit experience preferred
Proficient with payroll software
Highly organized and detail-oriented
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Collaborative team player who embraces challenges
What You Will Do:
Process payroll accurately and on time for a growing 150+ employee company.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations in a multi-state environment.
Maintain and reconcile employee records, including hours worked and deductions.
Collaborate with HR to update employee compensation and benefits information.
Prepare and distribute payroll reports for management review.
Manage payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Help with any other projects/processes within the Finance and Accounting Department.
