This role supervises purchasing staff, manages supplier relationships, and negotiates pricing and contracts with a focus on cost control, quality, and on-time delivery. Collaboration with production planning, engineering, and inventory teams to align material availability to support production demands.Key ResponsibilitiesLead, coach, develop and supervise a team of buyers and purchasing staffTrain, assign, and delegate responsibilities/projectsFollow up on performance progress, audit work, and provide feedback to each team member Manage sourcing of materials and components to meet cost, quality, and delivery targetsTrack and control bill of materials (BOM) costs, especially during product launchesEnsure on-time delivery and supplier capacity to support production schedulesCoordinate program reviews, monitor progress, and manage risksDevelop bid lists and support sourcing strategies aligned with company goals and commodity strategiesIdentify cost-savings and improvement opportunities and address budget gapsCollaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, etc.)Generate reports, action plans, and updates for leadershipOversee supplier performance, tooling, and launch readiness activitiesSupport smooth transition from product launch to full productionEnsure compliance with quality standards, audits, and company proceduresPromote safe work practices and resolve safety issuesMaintain organized work areas and proper material handlingStep in to support purchasing activities as needed and perform other assigned dutiesWhat We’re Looking For5+ years of purchasing or program or project management experience working in an industrial production purchasing environment with preference for globally supported environment3+ years of supervisory experience preferredBachelor 's Degree in Supply Chain Management/Engineering/Business Management or equivalent specialty requiredCertified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) a plusProven ability to work effectively as part of a teamProject Management or Program Management skillsTeam Leader, Critical Analysis, and excellent Negotiation SkillsStrong Interpersonal SkillsProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, eRFQ, Web based tracking software, and ERP systems knowledge a plus.Must be self-motivated/directed. Required to determine most, if not all, of own work assignments; both tactical and strategic. Requires minimal management input to achieve objectives.
