Mid-Level Offshore Structural Analysis Engineer

Verrified Engineering is looking for an ambitious and energetic mid-level Offshore Structural Engineer. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in Structural Engineering codes, principles, analysis and design with a desire to learn more. The candidate must be able to work independently as well as part of a team. Typical Responsibilities: Perform a wide range of structural engineering analysis and design tasks in structural steel, shallow and deep foundations using governing codes and standards. Develop 3-D beam element structural models, design plans, specifications, and the coordination with other design disciplines as required to deliver high quality engineering services. Perform both static as well as dynamic structural analysis. Develop and review engineering and fabrication drawings. Use computer-assisted engineering and design software to prepare engineering design documents. Perform site investigations / field activities such as as-built drawing development for existing structures, observation of construction progress and existing field conditions such as corrosion damage, loading, etc. Prepare engineering technical reports, engineering calculation packages; assist in the preparation of design drawings and specifications. Utilize a broad assortment of technical and critical thinking skills on projects that range from small modifications and/or repairs to large scale new construction. Qualifications: Degree from ABET accredited university in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Structural preferred Knowledge and experience of structural engineering concepts, principles and practices Experience (5 to 10-year range). Majority of the experience must be in Offshore Structural Brownfield, Repairs, Modifications, Strengthening and Integrity Management Candidate must have experience in using the following design codes AISC, ASCE, ACI and API. Proven skills in the areas of calculations, beam element modeling and analysis, and possess ability to work on more than one project at one time. Recent and extensive experience using SACS and AutoCAD is required. Field experience, a plus. FEA analysis, a plus. Registered Professional Engineer or intent to pursue professional licensure is preferred. Ability to use Solidworks, ANSYS, Orcaflex software are a plus. The candidate will be expected to handle all aspects of designated projects, set realistic goals and have drafts, information and recommendations made within specified timeframes. The candidate may be required to present projects and recommendations to client and work closely with other technical teams. The candidate must be flexible, adaptable, and responsive to shifts in priorities Excellent communication skills (written and oral) are a fundamental requirement for the successful candidate.
