Posting DateMar 18, 2026, 6:26:07 PMPrimary LocationNorth/Northwest Side-3436 West Wilson Avenue (Theodore Roosevelt High School)Salary Range : $61,513.30 to $92,687.09Job DescriptionYouth Intervention Specialist Job Code # 003015Helps create an environment that promotes student learning and development through programming and support for student behavior.Primary ResponsibilitiesImplement and monitor Positive Behavior Intervention Support ProgramCreate Advisory Curriculum in conjunction with administration around Social and Emotional LearningDeliver staff development around the PBIS/SEL programsImplement and monitor the peer mediation councilDe-escalate student incidents and behaviorMaintain communication with parents, teachers, and administrationRefer students to administration or student support as neededEnsure that attendance is entered daily into Impact.Ensure that all reporting timelines and deadlines are met.Monitor student attendance and track absencesDaily phone calls to parents and students when absentHome visits to chronically absent studentsDesign and implement attendance incentivesServe on the attendance task forceAssist with the development of Individual Student PlansSecondary ResponsibilitiesMonitor student behavior and provide consequences in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct in conjunction with the Assistant PrincipalManage student entrance every morningConduct hall sweeps and classroom walk-throughs to promote positive behaviorMonitor the cafeteria during lunch and eventsRun the In-School Suspension Room as neededConduct afterschool and Saturday detention as neededRequirementsCollege Degree in Public Administration, Education, or Human Services FieldPrevious experience in a school setting/or working with adolescentsAbility to work after school and weekend hoursExperience with Guided Discipline and PBISAbility to interface with teachers and find creative solutions to challenging problemsHealth & Wellness: Your Care, Your ChoiceCPS is committed to providing comprehensive health coverage to our employees and their eligible dependents.
