Job Title: RN Float Profession: RN Float Specialty: RN Float Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:45 PM - 07:15 AM Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Registered Nurse (RN) Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Minimum 2 years of ICU experience - Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg/Tele experience - Minimum 2 years of ED experience - Triage experience required - Charge Nurse experience preferred - Epic experience required Description: This is a float position. Candidates must have at least 2 of the 3 areas of competence. The position involves bedside patient care. Every other weekend and every other holiday are required. The ICU has a 16-bed capacity and provides intermediate care. The average daily census is 81, with a 2:1 ratio for ICU patients and a 1:3 ratio for intermediate care patients. The Med/Surg/Tele units have a 32-bed capacity. The average daily census ranges from 17 to 22, with a 1:5 patient ratio supported by nursing assistants. Additional support is provided by a lightly assigned Charge Nurse, maintaining a 1:2 patient ratio. The ED has 23 monitored beds with an average daily census of 70 to 100 patients, covering all stages of life. The patient ratio is 1:4, increasing to 1:5 during surgical staffing, with nursing assistant support.
