Utilizes technical skills and knowledge to train and develop mechanics. Assists Leads with daily operation of functional area while working under minimal supervision.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Reads and interprets manufacturer and airline maintenance manuals, service bulletins, drawings, engineering orders, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repair, replacement, or modification.Oversees and co-signs for uncertified mechanics in accordance with the ATS RSM procedures.Repair, modify, replace or otherwise performs routine aircraft maintenance work.Uses technical data to order parts and ensure material is effective for aircraft being installed on.Gathers information to submit to Engineering as needed.Recognizes unsafe conditions and takes immediate corrective action.May assist Leads with planning, production, and quality assurance of assigned projects.Communicates effectively with other maintenance personnel at all levels by keeping co-workers and leadership apprised of work progress and difficulties as they arise.Facilitates On-the-Job Training (OJT) to provide learning opportunities through work assignment and mentoring.Recommends changes to processes to improve efficiencies and workflow.Complies with and may communicate and provide guidance to team members on ATS policies, procedures and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements. Promotes "Balanced Technician" concept.Mentors and develops mechanics assigned to their functional areas.May assist in regular feedback and performance coaching including appropriate management of time, prioritizing tasks, and ensuring proper knowledge and training to accomplish assignments to all members of assigned crew.Responsible for accurate timekeeping including clocking into jobs.May be responsible for accuracy of clocking into jobs for assigned team.Adheres to company training guidelines.Regular and predictable attendance.Effective and appropriate conduct with co-workers.Structures:Heavy Interior modifications experience - cabin reconfiguration experienceAbility to remove and reinstall monuments efficiently and without reworkAirbus water/waste interface familiarity (preferred)Proficient with precision locating and installation of monument hard points on floor structuresRepair, replace, and rebuild A/C component structuresPossess basic computer skillsRepair & modify flight control surfaces and componentsUtilize special installation tools, such as blind rivet guns, etc.Utilize OEM and Engineering drawings to modify aircraft structureComplete specialized tasks, such as flap peening, cold working, etc.Fabricate repair parts using special shop tooling, such as brakes, stretchers, etc.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Minimum of three (3) years' recent commercial aircraft maintenance and/or heavy Airbus Structures experience preferred.Applicable Repairman, Airframe, or Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification (preferred)PHYSICAL EFFORT AND DEXTERITY:While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to sit, stand, and walk; use their hands and arms; and talk or hear; and focus on objects close up. The employee may be required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee may also be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.CompensationThe full base pay range for this position is $31.00 - $44.00 hourly, not including bonuses or benefits. Your pay will be based on your experience, skills, and education, as well as internal equity to ensure fairness across the team. Candidates closer to the lower end of the range are typically building their expertise, while those at the higher end bring significant experience and specialized knowledge.
