About the Role The Health, Safety & Wellbeing (HSW) Coordinator plays a key role in supporting positive safety and wellbeing outcomes across RFDS Victoria. Reporting to the Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager and based at our Richmond office, this role supports the consistent, high‑quality implementation of the Health, Safety & Wellbeing framework across all programs and sites. Working closely with leaders and teams, the HSW Coordinator coordinates day‑to‑day occupational health and safety activities, maintains reliable systems and data, and supports effective risk and incident management processes. Acting as a central point of contact for OHS enquiries, the role facilitates training, consultation, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure safety obligations are clearly understood and effectively applied. This is a hands‑on role that requires regular engagement across sites and programs. Through strong collaboration, practical advice, and consistent practices, the HSW Coordinator helps embed a culture of safe, healthy, and sustainable work across RFDS Victoria. Key Responsibilities Coordinate day‑to‑day health, safety and wellbeing activities in line with RFDS Victoria’s HSW framework, policies and annual plan. Act as a first point of contact for OHS enquiries, triaging issues and escalating risks or incidents as required. Support leaders and teams with hazard identification, risk assessments, workplace inspections, and follow‑up actions. Coordinate incident, hazard and near‑miss reporting, supporting investigations and tracking corrective actions to completion. Maintain accurate OHS systems, data and reporting, identifying trends and emerging risks for management review. Coordinate OHS training, inductions, consultations and safety committees, supporting engagement across all programs and sites. Success Criteria A minimum Certificate IV in Workplace/Occupational Health & Safety (or related discipline), with relevant experience. Strong knowledge of OHS/WHS legislation, regulations, and risk management principles, with the ability to apply them in practical settings. Well‑developed organisational skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities and stakeholders effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence supporting leaders, teams and safety representatives. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail when working with safety systems, data and reporting. A proactive, hands‑on approach and willingness to travel across RFDS Victoria sites as required. Satisfactory completion of safety screening including a current Working with Children’s Check, National Police Check, and the right to work in Australia.
