Position Type:Student Support Services/Student Services PositionsDate Posted:4/30/2026Location:Yorktown Elementary SchoolDate Available:07/01/2026Job DescriptionTitle: SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGISTPosition Type: ExemptPrimary Function:Provide speech and language therapy services for students with disabilities.Minimum Qualifications:Hold an active, valid license in speech-language pathology (full or school only) issued by the Virginia Board of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (BASLP).Knowledge and experience with state-of-the-art assistive technology related to communication.Have demonstrable work history of willingness to work with all students.Have demonstrable work history indicating high moral standards and integrity.Performance Responsibilities:Assess, diagnose and teach students with communicative disorders including articulation, language, fluency voice and hearing impairmentsUtilize good organizational skillsCoordinate home intervention services and consultative intervention for students and parentsUtilize effective oral and written communication skillsManage varied caseloads within an itinerate position to provide consultative and direct services to students with disabilitiesParticipate in ongoing staff development, to interact effectively with colleagues and administrators for the implementation of inclusive services for identified students as appropriateUtilize state-of-the-art assistive technology related to communicationPerform other duties as assigned by Director of Accountability and Instructional Services and building administrators.Reports to:Director of Accountability and Instructional ServicesTerms of Employment:200 days a year.
