Senior API Engineer | Azure / MuleSoftLocation: Chicago, IL Work Mode: Hybrid / OnsiteRole OverviewWe are seeking Senior API Engineers for two specialized tracks: Azure or MuleSoft. Candidates should have strong hands-on experience in enterprise API development, integration, security, CI/CD, and production support.Role 1: Senior API Engineer – AzureKey Responsibilities:Design, develop, secure, deploy, and support scalable REST APIs and services on Microsoft Azure.Develop and manage APIs using Azure API Management (APIM), Azure Functions, App Services, and related Azure services.Create and maintain OpenAPI/Swagger specifications and follow REST API design, versioning, and documentation standards.Implement API security using OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, Microsoft Entra ID, Managed Identities, and Azure Key Vault.Configure APIM policies for authentication, routing, throttling, rate limiting, caching, and logging.Apply Azure networking concepts including VNets, private endpoints, NSGs, firewalls, and private connectivity.Build CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions.Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep, ARM, or similar tools.Implement monitoring and diagnostics using Application Insights and Azure Monitor.Troubleshoot production issues and participate in architecture and code reviews.Preferred: Microsoft Azure, Azure APIM, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, Event Grid, Terraform/Bicep, Salesforce certifications, and GitHub Copilot.Common RequirementsStrong experience in enterprise API and integration development.Strong knowledge of REST APIs and API security.Experience with CI/CD, Git, DevOps/DevSecOps, and automated testing.Strong troubleshooting and production-support experience.Ability to independently deliver secure, scalable, resilient, production-ready APIs.Excellent understanding of API governance, performance, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
