Journeyman Plumbing Technician

Job Description: Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a 30 minute lunch. Position Summary: The Plumber will install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below. These responsibilities may differ among customers, depending on business necessities and client requirements. General Responsibilities: Inspect, install, repair and replaces pipe, fittings, and plumbing fixtures to maintain the heating, cooling, water, sewer, gas, and drainage systems. Cuts, bends, threads and fits pipes with adjoining pipe assemblies. Open clogged drains. Install sinks, showers, toilets, water heaters and related plumbing fixtures. Qualifications & Requirements: Willingness to be open to learning and growing. Maturity of judgment and behavior. Maintains high standards for work areas and appearance. Attends work and shows up for scheduled shift on time Ability to work a flexible schedule. Must be able to work nights, weekends and some holidays. Experience/Knowledge: High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience. 3 or more years of related work experience. Skills/Aptitude: Ability to present self in a highly professional manner to others and understands that honesty and ethics are essential. Ability to maintain a positive attitude. Ability to communicate with co-workers and other departments in a professional manner and respect. Ability to provide clear directions and respond accordingly to employees. Good attention to detail. Ability to work well under pressure. Ability to work well alone and in a team. Excellent oral and written communication skills. License/Qualifications: Holds appropriate license/certification for the specific work to be done in the city and state in which the work will be done. A valid driver’s license may be required. Physical Requirements: Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours). Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 40 pounds.
