Service Technician - Commercial HVAC

Job Description This position REQUIRES 8+ years of experience in HVAC with 5+ years of Commercial experienceEssential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):Obtain and maintain required certifications.Comply with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area.Repair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring.Test electrical circuits or components for continuity, using electrical test equipment.Reassemble and test equipment following repairs.Inspect and test systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions.Discuss heating-cooling system malfunctions with users to isolate problems or to verify that malfunctions have been corrected.Record and report all faults, deficiencies, and other unusual occurrences, as well as the time and materials expended on work orders.Test pipe or tubing joints or connections for leaks, using pressure gauge or soap-and-water solution.Adjust system controls to setting recommended by manufacturer to balance system, using hand tools.Recommend, develop, or perform preventive or general maintenance procedures, such as cleaning, power-washing, vacuuming equipment, oiling parts or changing filters.Lay out and connect electrical wiring between controls and equipment, according to wiring diagrams, using electrician&#39;s hand tools.Install auxiliary components to heating-cooling equipment, such as expansion and discharge valves, air ducts, pipes, blowers, dampers, flues and stokers, following blueprints.Assist with other work in coordination with repair and maintenance teams.Install, connect and adjust thermostats, humidistats and timers, using hand tools.Generate work orders that address deficiencies in need of correction.Join pipes or tubing to equipment and to fuel, water or refrigerant source, to form complete circuit.Assemble, position and mount heating or cooling equipment, following blueprints.Study blueprints, design specifications and manufacturers&#39; recommendations to ascertain the configuration of heating or cooling equipment components and to ensure the proper installation of components.Cut or drill holes in floors, walls or roofs to install equipment, using power saws or drills.Wrap pipes in insulation, securing it in place with cement or wire bands.Measure, cut, thread, or bend pipe or tubing, using pipe fitter&#39;s tools.Fabricate, assemble, or install duct work or chassis parts, using portable metal-working tools or welding equipment. We are looking for a hardworking, reliable, and safety-minded employee to support our statewide construction and service operations. The employee is responsible for all phases of safety while setting up and operating company owned equipment within the guidelines of all federal regulation standards as well as company standards. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience operating all types of construction equipment and be capable of working with minimal oversight. The ideal candidate is willing to follow directions and closely adhere to construction industry safety standards. The position is primarily located outdoors, and the selected candidates will be expected to work under all types of weather conditions.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:• Deliver materials and equipment to and from job sites• Operate all company vehicles in accordance with local laws/regulations in a safe and courteous manner• Conduct daily inspections of the vehicle at the end of the shift and report any problems or damage to management• Keep assigned vehicles clean and orderly• Comply with all DOT and in-house regulations and rules• Observe and report equipment or mechanical failures immediately• Drive vehicle to worksites•\tLight Yard work is expected•\tLoad and Unload trucks •\tDuties may change and/or per the Support Service LeadOPERATING EQUIPMENT: • Operates fork trucks under general supervision• Inspect equipment for safety issues daily• Lift, position and place machinery, equipment or other large objects within the directed location at construction sites and industrial facilitiesSAFETY: • Promote, execute and adhere to the company's safety program• Attend weekly safety meetings• Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself or endanger the well-being of othersCooperate with Safety personnel, supervisors, and managers to ensure proper procedures are carried out according to the Company's Safety policiesQUALIFICATIONS:• Work schedule will require open availability including weekends, holidays, and overnights determined by the needs of the business; must be flexible• Must be able to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment, post-offer background check and drug testEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:• High school diploma/GED preferred• Current driver's license required with no current restrictions* Commercial driver&#39;s license CDL Class A/BCompany DescriptionSun Mechanical Contracting is actively seeking a delivery driver for its Tucson based operations.
