Overview: The Quality Supervisor or Lead will manage and oversee the daily operations of Quality Control functions within a small manufacturing company. This role involves working closely with both internal teams and customers to ensure high-quality standards are met. The supervisor/lead will manage factory safety, certifications, vendor qualifications, rejections, and oversee processes related to quality. The role may also include additional responsibilities such as overseeing shipping and inspection duties as the workload increases. Key Responsibilities: 1. Company Certifications (ISO, AS) Ensure that the company maintains and upholds ISO and AS certifications, including regular audits and compliance with industry standards. 2. Inspection Workflow Oversight Manage the inspection processes, ensuring products meet all quality requirements before they are released. Supervise the workflow of quality inspectors and ensure timely completion. Must be able to independently inspect and process the quality paperwork during increased workload Must be able to use all key inspection tools—e.g. calipers, verniers, CMM, comparators, gages, etc. 3. Customer Service Support for Quality Issues Address and resolve customer quality complaints, ensuring that products meet customer expectations and contractual specifications. Communicate effectively with customers to resolve issues. 4. Customer Supplier Quality Supervise supplier quality, ensuring that products received from suppliers meet the company's quality standards. Work with suppliers to address any quality issues. 5. Vendor Qualifications Manage the process of qualifying new vendors, ensuring their capabilities align with quality requirements and operational standards. 6. Certification Package for Shipping Ensure that all products shipped to customers are accompanied by the required documentation, such as certification packages, in line with industry and customer specifications. 7. Quality and Factory Tool Calibration Schedule Maintain the calibration schedule for tools used in production and quality inspections. Ensure all tools are calibrated and operating correctly to maintain quality consistency. 8. Industry Certifications (ISO 9001, AS9100) Ensure compliance with industry certifications such as ISO 9001 and AS9100, including oversight of internal audits, corrective actions, and continual improvement processes. 9. Shipping Commitments and Schedules Ensure that shipping commitments are met on time, with products meeting quality specifications. Oversee the logistics team to ensure schedules are followed. 10. Outside Processing Work Oversight Supervise the work being outsourced to external vendors or contractors, ensuring that work is performed according to company quality standards. Qualifications: Experience: 5 years of relevant experience in quality management, manufacturing, or a related field, including a combination of on-the-job experience and formal education. Familiarity with ISO, AS, and other industry certifications.
