The Details: In this role, you will be responsible for: Patient care: including vital signs, medication updates, spirometry, phlebotomy, injections, O2 recertifications, and other testing as necessary Collaborating with Practice Administrator, Office Manager, and HR Manager and assisting in facilitating positive relationships among physicians, office staff and patients Providing clinical direction to office staff as needed Overseeing and training office staff through various office duties to ensure cross-coverage in all job areas in coordination with Office Manager Assisting Office Manager with clinic schedule problem solving patient wait times and other areas of concern to increase efficient and quality services Assisting patients with Short Term and Long-Term Disability claims Coordinating records requests for disability, subpoenas, and Texas Medical Board; including attorney review prior to submission Assisting with scheduling tests and treatment Ensuring maintenance of office and clinical supply inventory and administering pulmonary function tests (PFTs), 6 minute walk test, and other testing as necessary Updating MIPS in Electronic Health Record (EHR) Becoming trained and well versed as a super user in the EMR system to assist OM with troubleshooting and resolving issues that arise out of the EMR system Preparing, cleaning and maintaining exam and treatment rooms Ordering supplies for exam rooms and offices Providing verbal or faxed prescriptions, obtaining prior authorizations when necessary Retrieving and completing electronic prescriptions Completing pre-certification testing and procedures when required Calibrating spirometers Releasing medical records Processing returned x-rays Preparing laundry for pickup Maintaining sample medication records and storage Maintaining biohazard disposal box Answering incoming calls Scheduling patient appointments Taking messages: pulling charts and routing to appropriate physician Paging calls to physicians when necessary Performing other administrative tasks and clinical care as assigned by Office Manager Coordinating with patient to schedule procedures and tests at appropriate facilities Ensuring all testing has been ordered for assigned physician by end of day Being available to both physicians and staff for assistance Covering job duties of absent staff member(s) Processing improvement pertaining to office workflow Sorting and distributing faxes and mail as needed Ensuring patient charts contain completed orders and all appropriate test results are available Other duties as assigned What we are looking for: A successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of a combination of these values, knowledge, and experience: Values: Work Ethic: Dedication to getting the job done well and on time, regardless of circumstances, a can-do attitude Communication: The ability to speak, write, and listen clearly and consistently Relationship Building and Maintenance: The ability to create and nourish healthy, strong relationships, as the face of Sound Teamwork: Demonstrates the ability to pull people together into highly effective teams along with ability to work in a highly matrixed organization Critical Thinking: Demonstrates the ability to be proactive, anticipate needs; ability to make good decisions with incomplete, ambiguous information Adaptability: Demonstrates flexibility and a willingness to change as circumstances evolve and be coachable Resourceful: Proactive willingness to utilize available information and tools to figure things out, not afraid to ask questions when necessary Commitment: Demonstrates a dedication to the job, project, organization, customer/clients, and co-workers Strategic Thinker: Demonstrates the ability to look at the big picture and proactively develop a plan of action Self-Motivated: Proactively jumps in to start a task or project with limited direction; asks to take on more responsibility and what is next Collaborative: Demonstrates the ability to work well with others to accomplish a goal and get the work done; takes opinions of others into consideration; includes others in the decision-making process Knowledge: High School Diploma MA certification Knowledge of medical terminology Experience: 2-3 years in healthcare industry (hospital, physician practice or insurance) Extensive organizational and task management experience Electronic Medical Records experience Sound Physicians is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employer and is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion at the bedside and in our workforce.
