This position ensures quality service and delivery of care to patients and maintains the service delivery environment. This environment will be clean, well maintained, and the patients are treated with excellence in customer service. This position supports, promotes and furthers our goal of providing the highest standards of culturally relevant and sensitive professional service consistent with our mission.What You'll DoClinical Duties (may include, but not limited to):Collects patient medical histories and administers screening questionnairesExplains treatment procedures to patientsPrepares patients for examinationsAssists the provider during examinationsCollects and prepares laboratory specimensPerforms phlebotomy and basic laboratory testsInstructs patients about medication and special dietsPrepares and administers medications, including by intramuscular, intradermal, and subcutaneous injections, including vaccinations/immunizations, as directed by a physician or other licensed provider (e.g., a nurse practitioner or physician assistant).Transmits prescription refills, as directedTakes electrocardiogramsPerforms wound care and changes dressingsPerforms inventory of and orders clinic supplies. stocks roomsPerforms daily quality control checks of laboratory devices, per policy and proceduresPerforms refrigerator maintenance tasks, per policy and proceduresPerforms sterilization of instruments, per policy and proceduresFront Desk:Serves patients by greeting and helping them, scheduling appointments, and maintaining records and accountsCollects client payment and records into practice management systemEnsures that customer calls are answered promptly and courteously and routed appropriatelyQualificationsCompleted Medical Assistant program from an accredited school2 years of experience working as a CMAIntermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite of productsBilingual in Spanish and English requiredMust successfully pass credentialing process which includes verification of licenses and education, screening and possible vaccination for communicable diseases like Hepatitis B and TBWhat We OfferJFS offers excellent benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, generous paid vacation days, paid parental leave and a 403B match.JFS provides equal employment opportunities without regard to race, religion, ethnicity, age, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability and veteran status, except in the case of those positions in which religion is, in the opinion of JFS, an essential factor.
