Network Field Engineer📍 Location: Metro Detroit, MI (Field-Based)💲 Pay Rate: $40-45/hour (W-2)📅 Duration: 26 Weeks (Temp-to-Hire)🚗 Travel: Required between local sitesPosition OverviewWe are seeking a Network Field Engineer to support and maintain enterprise network infrastructure across multiple locations. This role focuses on LAN/WAN support, network troubleshooting, installations, and performance optimization in a dynamic environment.The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Cisco networking equipment, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to independently resolve complex network issues while collaborating with cross-functional teams.Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor day-to-day operations of enterprise network infrastructureTroubleshoot and resolve issues related to LAN, WAN, and application performanceInstall, configure, and maintain network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls)Perform break/fix support and participate in on-call rotationSupport network upgrades, enhancements, and new implementationsCollaborate with infrastructure teams and end-users to diagnose performance issuesConfigure and update firmware on network devicesManage port activations and switch configurationsCreate and maintain network documentation (Visio diagrams, technical docs)Ensure adherence to network security best practicesMaintain awareness of evolving networking and security standardsRequired Qualifications2–4+ years of hands-on networking experienceStrong knowledge of LAN/WAN environments and network troubleshootingExperience with Cisco equipment (installation, configuration, support)Solid understanding of networking protocols, including:TCP/IPOSPFEIGRPBGPExperience configuring switches, routers, and firewallsFamiliarity with port activations and firmware updatesAbility to analyze network performance and implement solutionsExperience creating technical documentation (Visio or similar tools)Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skillsExcellent communication and teamwork abilitiesReliable transportation for travel between sitesPreferred QualificationsAssociate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related fieldCCNA certification (or actively pursuing)Experience with ServiceNowFamiliarity with Avaya systemsKnowledge of HIPAA or regulated environmentsWork EnvironmentField-based role with travel between sites in the Metro Detroit areaStandard business hours with on-call rotationOffice/technical environments with minimal physical strainWhat You’ll BringStrong ownership mindset and accountabilityAbility to work independently and as part of a teamWillingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environmentCommitment to delivering high-quality customer service
