Solutions Engineer
Overview
We help Marketing teams understand what’s really driving growth and decide where to invest next through advanced measurement, experimentation, and scenario planning.
Your Role
Performing data analysis
You will analyze our customers’ marketing data and produce the reports that are a core part of our offering.
Our model outputs are more than just numbers. You'll use your understanding of our customers and their marketing spend to judge whether a given result is reasonable or not. If you have no marketing experience, don't worry, we'll teach you!
This includes end to end operation of our data workflows. You will be collecting data, cleaning it, training our ML models, and assessing model fit. You will also analyze the model to understand what it means and communicate that to the rest of our team. We will teach you how!
Balancing quality and speed
You will ensure the high quality of our analyses, while also providing them in a timely fashion. This requires both a vigilant and attentive mindset and the flexibility to consider different approaches.
When you make tradeoffs against either quality or speed, you will communicate them openly with the team and be open to feedback.
Since we work with sensitive customer data, quality and security are paramount for us. You will take this responsibility personally.
Collaborating with the product engineering and growth advisory teams
The product engineering team is building internal and customer-facing products to simplify our data workflows and to provide a delightful experience for the customer. You will share feedback with them to help them prioritize the work on their roadmap.
The growth advisory team is in constant contact with the customer to guide them on their journey to adopt our marketing measurement method. You will help them understand your findings so they can share them with the customer.
Prototyping automation
As you see opportunities to automate your work, you will script simple tools to do so. You’ll experiment with AI and simpler automation tools to make yourself more efficient, and you’ll share your successes and failures with the product engineering team so they can incorporate them into our application.
Your Experience and Skills
Fluent in python and SQL (2+ years of experience). You should be comfortable writing clean python code and SQL with outer joins, aggregations, inline views, and type conversions.
Experience working with real-world data (2+ years). You’ve worked with real-world datasets and learned how to produce high quality code / scripts in the face of data quality issues and poorly documented schemas.
Experience with some of the following: causal inference, machine learning, regression analysis, or A/B testing. We will help you build on this foundation to become an expert in our machine learning workflows.
Getting stuff done. You take full responsibility for delivery of your tasks, and when you commit to something, you follow through. You are laser focused on shipping your analyses to customers.
Spike in attention to detail. You produce high quality results in complex situations, and you’ve stood as the quality backstop for your work.
Strong communication skills. You’re able to communicate a complex technical issue in a simple fashion to your teammates, and you keep them up to date on the status of your tasks and deliverables.
Handling ambiguity. You’ve faced ambiguous situations and demonstrated an ability to get help as needed to make progress.
Your Interests
