Plant Maintenance

Olsten Staffing is seeking a Plant Mechanic in LaurinburgNC to repair and maintain plant machinery and support equipment in a manufacturing environment. This position plays a key role in ensuring production equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform routine maintenance and mechanical repairs on production machinery, including twisting, weaving, winding, and re-spooling equipmentConduct scheduled and preventive maintenance on all production and support equipmentTroubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues to minimize downtimeAssist with maintenance needs across multiple departments, including converting and treating areasReplace parts and maintain accurate records in accordance with established proceduresMonitor and help maintain parts inventory, notifying leadership of any usage or shortagesMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentPerform maintenance on production vehicles, including forklifts, tuggers, and pallet jacksAssist with general plant maintenance and special projects, including shutdown workSupport continuous improvement efforts such as 5S and TPM initiativesWork independently or as part of a team to complete assigned tasksPerform other duties as assigned by supervisorQualifications & SkillsStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting skillsAbility to gather information and make sound decisionsEffective communication skills, both written and verbalStrong time management and organizational abilitiesAbility to collaborate across teams and departmentsWillingness to learn and expand technical knowledgeWork EnvironmentThis position works throughout a manufacturing facility and involves exposure to production equipment, varying temperatures, and industrial conditions.Physical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 45 pounds occasionallyAbility to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and work in confined or awkward positionsAbility to use hand and power toolsComfortable working in high temperatures and dusty environmentsScheduleThis is a full-time position. Shifts may include:1st Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM2nd Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM3rd Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AMOvertime, weekends, holidays, and plant shutdown work may be required based on business needs.RequirementsAt least 1 year of industrial maintenance experienceWorking knowledge of maintenance tools, equipment, and practicesPreferred Qualifications3+ years of industrial maintenance experienceUnderstanding of electrical and mechanical systems The starting pay for this position ranges from $21.95 to $24.44 per hour, depending on experience.
