Back End Software EngineerThe Back End Software Engineer will develop and maintain server-side logic, database architecture, and cloud-native infrastructure supporting AI Foundations initiatives. This role is heavily focused on cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes platforms, and DevOps best practices. The ideal candidate will combine deep backend engineering expertise with strong platform architecture experience and the ability to work semi-autonomously in rapid prototyping environments.Key Responsibilities:Develop and maintain server-side logic, APIs, authentication systems, and database interactions.Define and manage central database architecture ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability.Integrate front-end components with backend services.Collaborate with front-end developers, Product Managers, customers, and end users to design cohesive solutions.Build prototypes, products, and systems that meet quality standards and business requirements.Ensure reusable, well-documented, and thoroughly tested components.Cloud Platform Architecture And Infrastructure:Design and implement scalable cloud infrastructure on Azure and other cloud platforms (GCP, AWS).Architect and deploy Kubernetes-based platforms and operators.Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform and Crossplane.Develop and manage cloud-agnostic observability stacks including Prometheus, Thanos, Loki, Tempo/Jaeger, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, and Alertmanager.Implement and manage platform security including event monitoring, Falco detection, and CIS benchmark compliance.Apply strong GitOps best practices to DevOps processes and automation pipelines.DevOps And Engineering Leadership:Create and oversee DevOps processes to improve reliability and deployment efficiency.Provide technical leadership and documentation to developers and stakeholders.Lead internal workshops and enable end users through training and technical guidance.Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, and cloud-native practices.Requirements / Must Have:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Applied Statistics, or related field.7+ years of relevant experience in software engineering or related technical roles.Expert-level experience with Kubernetes (required).Strong experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).Hands-on experience with Terraform and infrastructure as code.Deep understanding of observability tools (Prometheus stack, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, etc.).Experience implementing security monitoring and compliance frameworks.Strong backend development experience (APIs, authentication, database systems).Preferred Skills:Experience building cloud-agnostic infrastructure.Experience working on AI or ML platform teams.Experience developing Kubernetes operators.Strong communication skills with the ability to lead workshops and technical sessions.Experience working in rapid prototyping or innovation-driven environments.Minimum Experience:7+ years of professional experience in backend and cloud infrastructure engineering.
