This is why we continue to be an industry leader at structuring operating leases.Temp to Perm Real Estate Controller/AccountantSalary up to 100KTemp Pay $30-40Starts off as part time, 3 days a week in the office, 9 to 3:30pmIn person InterviewsOversee all financial operations, including property-level accounting, monthly closing, budgeting, and financial reporting (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow). They ensure compliance with real estate regulations, manage tax liability, and often oversee property management accounting and leasing data accuracy.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare accurate weekly/monthly financial statements and perform variance analysis (budget vs. actual).Property Accounting: Manage general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and property-level cash flow.Transactions & Compliance: Oversee accounting for acquisitions, dispositions, capital improvements, and tax filings.Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop annual budgets and forecasts for properties.Leasing/Tenant Support: Review lease agreements and verify accurate CAM (Common Area Maintenance) billings.Internal Controls: Establish policies to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with GAAP or tax regulations.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.Experience: 1-3 years for staff accountant roles, or 5+ years for senior controllership roles, preferably in commercial or residential real estate.Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Yardi, MRI), Excel, and a strong understanding of GAAP and real estate transactions.Certification: CPA or CPA candidates are often preferred.Core CompetenciesStrong knowledge of real estate software.Ability to handle multiple, changing priorities.
