Assistant High School Football Coach

SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our coaching staff at Winlock High School as an Assistant High School Football Coach. (8-Man Football) The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of football fundamentals, a commitment to student-athlete development, and the ability to foster a positive and competitive team environment. This full-time position requires collaboration with the head coach and other coaching staff to enhance the overall football program and support the growth of our student-athletes both on and off the field.Responsibilities- Assist the head coach in planning and implementing effective practice sessions and game strategies.- Support the development of individual players by providing instruction on techniques, skills, and game concepts.- Help manage the team's daily operations, including practice schedules, game preparations, and travel arrangements.- Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect among players.- Monitor and evaluate player performance, providing constructive feedback and guidance for improvement.- Collaborate with other coaches and staff to ensure a cohesive approach to player development and program goals.- Assist in the recruitment and retention of student-athletes, promoting the benefits of participation in the football program.- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team activities and expectations.- Ensure compliance with school and district policies, as well as state and national athletic regulations.- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with coaching techniques and strategies.Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Management, or a related field preferred.- Previous coaching experience at the high school level or higher, particularly in football.- Strong knowledge of football rules, strategies, and techniques.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.- Ability to work collaboratively with coaching staff, administration, and parents.- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team environment.- First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain upon hiring.- Must be able to pass a background check and adhere to all school district policies.
