Depending upon individual assignments, the teacher performs all or a combination of several of the following duties:Plan, implement, and evaluate classroom instruction and activity programs consistent with building and adopted district curriculumDiagnose and prescribe learning programs for individual and groups of students based on aptitude, interest and level of achievementProvide individual and small group instruction in order to adapt curriculum to the students with varying intellectual abilities, attitudes, and cultural backgroundsAbility to motivate, discipline, and interact with students in a productive mannerCreate and maintain a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate for individual interests and learning styles of students and consistent with building/District policyUtilize district and state assessments and standards in developing curriculumDevelop instruction goals and objectives to meet teaching assignmentProvide appropriate preparation for state-mandated testingPrepare teaching materials and reports (e.g. grades, attendance, anecdotal records, etc.) for the purpose of implementing lesson plans and providing documentation of teacher and student progress through progress monitoringEvaluate each student's performance and growth in knowledge and understanding, and prepares progress reportsEstablish and maintain standards of student behavior required to provide an orderly and productive environmentInstruct students in proper care and use of materials and organizes storage areas and controls use of materials to prevent loss or abuseCarry out the assignments designated by the building principalPerform other duties and responsibilities as assignedEffectively utilize district technology appropriatelyState/District Mandated Requirements:Valid First Aid/CPR/AED card or ability to attain oneFingerprinting (paid by employee)I-9 Employment Eligibility in compliance with the Immigration Reform ActHIV/HBV Training (district provided)Sexual Harassment Training (district provided)Terms of Employment:* Work year shall be concurrent with the school calendar and bargaining agreementRequired Attachments:Cover LetterResume3 Certificated Reference Forms or Letters of RecommendationWashington State Teaching CertificateTranscriptsBenefits:State health benefitsState retirement benefitsPaid time off180 days per year7.5 hours per day
