This program is inclusive of the physically and emotionally challenged. Qualifications/Skills: Education/Certification:Minimum of 48 college hours or high school diploma/equivalent plus pass a District Assessment.Educational Aide Certification.Continuing Education: Must complete 15 hours of "professional growth" annually, which is provided and/or approved by the SBISD Health Administrator.Special Knowledge/Skills:Ability to work and communicate with children and adults.Fluent in English (speaking and writing); bilingual preferred.Ability to perform indoor and outdoor activities.Ability to perform and demonstrate activities that involve a variety of materials and equipment and/or activities that are physically active.Experience:* Acceptable experience with young children.Major Duties andResponsibilities: Instructional Support:* Adhere to Texas Education Agency and district policies and procedures.* Plan cooperatively and on a regular basis with the Health Fitness Specialist.Student Management:Create and maintain a suitable environment for all students in Pre-K through 5th grade, including the physically and emotionally challenged.Help supervise, organize and maintain a system of class management.Assist children in participating in a variety of activities.Cooperatively plan for and assist children in participating in a variety of activities and provide independent instruction.Other:Maintain records and perform clerical duties related to health fitness classes.Maintain a physically and emotionally safe indoor and outdoor environment.Prescribe and implement assessment.Order materials/supplies and prepare and organize materials and equipment daily.Perform other duties as assigned.SupervisoryResponsibilities: None Equipment Used: Personal computer and various office equipment.
