Position: Teacher Aide (2026-2027 Pool)Location: North CampusOBJECTIVE:A teacher assistant supports a lead teacher in managing a classroom. Also called teacher aides, this professional reinforces lessons by tutoring individual students or small groups. Their responsibilities include, but are not limited to, interacting with students, supervising projects, creating lesson plans, documenting progress, and overseeing lesson preparations. A Special Education (SPED) Teacher Assistant works under the supervision of a certified special education teacher to provide academic, behavioral, and personal care support to students with disabilities. Their primary goal is to foster a safe, inclusive, and productive learning environment that helps students achieve their individualized Education Program goals. The teacher assistant's duties may also include personal care and safety, such as assisting students with personal hygiene, including toileting, diapering, feeding, and grooming. This may involve lifting, positioning students, and managing mobility devices like wheelchairs.
